So I mean with two dogs three kids and a rabbit..(oh yea i have a rabbit.. Mr. pickles)..why not buy 3 ducks at the farmers market..

Needless to say the dogs are over the moon about the new additions....NOT.

All Dozer wanted was to be let out..He figured he got in trouble every time he put one in his mouth his best bet was to remove himself from temptation.

My favorite shots..

So last weekend I did a fare amount of shooting..and I just wanted to share my favorites. You can check all my shots on my smugmug http://www.shurtzgirl.smugmug.com/ But these few I just love.

I was super happy about Kristens maternity shoot. We had fun and I am looking forward to baby Alisons shoot when she shows up.

From this shoot I just went home and chilled with the family for the rest of the day. Later that even Brad and Liz showed up for there engagement session. Engagement sessions are hard. I want them to act like they would everyday and pretend that there isn't some bossy blond with a camera in there face. Lucky for me Brad and Liz are so much fun. Here are couple of my favorite.

Why Chiggers are worth it...

Someone wasnt happy about my prior post without a picture of "atleast ONE" of the Bass he caught. Without the photo (I was informed) he looked like a moron... :)
I have two shoots this weekend. YAY. My very first maternity shoot which i am soooo excited about. I LOVE BELLIES. And then later on on Sat I have an egagement session with Brad and Liz. I love this couple and I am so happy about shooting their wedding! Its on the beach on labor day...hey Amy! You want to come and help??? hehehe...it would be fun!!!

Chiggers.....

He suffered for weeks...squirming, itching ,"finger nail crossing" rubbing, tossing and turning with chiggers. He had them where NO man should ever have chiggers. They even seemed to set up permanent resident in his belly button hiding under the ruse of a wayward tick head...no tick head...just a whole chigger family living like the Cosbys in a cozy warm belly button. "How do you get rid of these?".."what do I do?" "Heather help me..." It only led me to remember a fishing extravaganza with uncle doug. All though the memory has slightly fogged over with time...and the Stag that may or may not have been drank that morning...I recall fishing with him in a well known chigger infested area. Upon exit of the bass less fishing whole he proceeded to douse himself with gasoline. GAS..and not just himself but I too was baptized in automobile nectar that was sure to set me free of my chigger ridden soul. It worked!..I never had a chigger. I refused to get close to G-Ma for the rest of the day for fear of being set on fire but smelling like a gas station now seems like a small price to pay.
Seeing as it was too late for..Mr. Chicago I rushed to all knowing Internet for help. there i learned more about chiggers than I ever wanted to know and knowing what I do now..I would have gladly swam in a pool of petrol than deal with these little suckers. However Mr.C still was suffering through. All we learned were a few home remedies which consisted of fingernail polish or Vaseline of which neither worked. Time was the cure all...oh and to steer clear from high weeded areas around fresh water sources was someones best bet.

Shurtz Girl of the MONTH!

I have read many a blog and it seems that everyone has some kind of "thing" they do..you know something readers look forward to. (not that I have a lot of readers but if you are a reader guess what..now you have something to look forward to..)

I have decided that every month I will feature a "Shurtz Girl"! Considering there are enough Shurtz Girls in my family this should last a while...and by the time I run out..Im sure more Shurtz Girls will be made .

So lets get on with it then!

This months SHURTZ GIRL is.......

It was around this time 3 years ago this photo was taken. One of my best memories was watching her as she listened to the big band music being played one evening when we were in HI. She was having a little sip of some white Zin..(its ok.) GrandMA was a true patriot and she loved this country. So that is one reason why she made Ms. July. The other reason is.. if it werent for this Shurtz Girl...well hell what would all my readers have to look forward to for years to come now :) I miss you Miss July!

On another note..i will be splitting up the blog. Considering the photo demand has gone up I figure people who just want me to take their photo may not get my humor or may not give a rats..fanny about my life SO why bore them. A little brother.

This is my little brother. His name is Jason Patrick Shurtz. I miss him. I have found myself over the last couple of days staring at this picture and wondering where did the time go. Wasn't it just yesterday when we were "playing" war in the weeds of Puerto Rico? Wasn't it yesterday when war was over we went in for a PBnJ...Wasnt it yesterday when we shamlessly insulting Wayne till he cried..ohyea that WAS yesterday..nevermind. :)I remember when my mom and dad came home with him from the hospital. I thought they loved me so much that they bought me a REAL baby. And so it goes..I always believed he was mine. No I wasn't always good to him. In fact I was down right nasty to him at times. I still feel bad. Anyone who knows me really..knows I only have one regret in life. That regret is leaving him behind when I left.
Now he is all grown up. A full grown man. Not the turd ,as a narcissistic 15 year old once thought, he was going to be. Nope he is a wonderful father and husband AND a servant to this country. Words cant express how proud of him I am. The way he has handled himself in his darkest hours should be an example to us all. Jason has told me in the past to pick a path and no matter what "stay on that path" J picked his path and though its taken some turns it seems to have always led back to the right one and that path is as simple as being a GOOD man. He is true to his word. He says it like he sees it, and he does what he says he is going to do.
I know he misses home. I hope he knows Home misses him too.

Welcome Home!

Sadie Bug came home today and I couldnt be happier. Seeing her little face get out of that car was just amazing. I feel like I want to hold onto her and just never let her go.
